Navigate to Categories & Products >> Manage Products to edit a current product or navigate to Add a New Product to start with a new product.
If you chose to modify an existing product, you'll need to find that product as shown below. Once you see the product you wish to edit, click on the "pencil and paper" icon to the right in order to edit that product. New products may skip this step.
On the next page you will see Product Info, Attributes, Inventory, etc. Click on attributes.
Name your attribute (ie. color, size, shape, etc.).
Fill in the attribute options in the options box.
Once you have the desired attribute completed click Apply Changes at the bottom of the page.
After click Apply Changes, you will see your new attribute as shown below. You may continue adding more attributes to your product as necessary. When you have finished adding attributes to your product, click Save Changes at the very bottom of the page.
